MINI BIO: Cal was a small town firefighter before he was picked up by TBD. He left behind his pregnant wife with a view to quickly save the world and be back to her ... and it's been 5 years. And now she's also here (Eren Martinez) with their son he'd never met. It's complicated. Otherwise, Cal is a good guy (or trying to be) although he is frequently up for pranks or other mild hijinks.


IDEAS/LINES:
•Battlest: He has a partner (Eva) but does he know you from a previous mission?
One night stand: He's been loyal to his wife for the most part but I'm open to one exception, at least a year ago, and we can talk details!
•Recruiter/mentor: This can be more formal as above or you found him crying when he was first experiencing guilt and helped him deal with it
•Mentee: And then if you've arrived in the last 4 years, the reverse of above!
•Friends/friendly: As mentioned, Cal is generally a good guy, so he will be gathering many friends and treating people well unless he has a reason to be!

WELL based off of meme replies, mav and cal are now buddies. he could have even been an unofficial mentee to her? she's only ~6 months off training, so newish!!

irina is in battlest with him, though she's a pilot. she's very.... shall we say, :| and friendy attitudes are a bit sus to her, but she will be polite

jax is also an ex-firefighter!!!!!!!!!!!! for this alone, they must be pals, though jax is a little bit older than him. he's been resettlement since he came on so he could have been another helping hand when settling in? :')

Hi, Kelly!

When I look at Cal and Simon, I see diametric opposites on the Scale of Man, which interests me a lot. Man with an infinite symbol tattoo vs man who willingly traps himself in his stupid suit... it almost writes itself. And yet for all their differences, they seem to have two core experiences in common: 1) being the oldest sibling and having to take care of their younger siblings under adverse conditions; and 2) being separated from their spouse across the Veiled/unVeiled gap.

I am really interested in exploring a friendship between them that perhaps starts off contentious (I can see Cal good-naturedly ribbing Simon and then getting rudely rebuffed because Simon doesn't understand Cal), that then grows in depth and confidence over the course of the game? Particularly sharing their thoughts/commiserating about the big Divorce Anvil hovering over both of their heads.

Starting off strong with you're partnered with Adri's baby girl! Therefore you are now His Childe Pt Deux (unless Eva doesn't like you, then whatever). Adri otherwise doesn't pay attention to the Younguns.

Lia is new to the team, but she's in Espio. She'd be friendly if they crossed paths!

Griff is a fellow Battlest guy. He's been here for ages. I can offer him for a mentor and/or a friend!

hi kelly this is rae! sorry this is so late! i have niko (dreamscape), lola (information), and fox (battlest pilot).

i think lola and fox are most relevant -- he & lola have been around the same length of time, he's a handsome guy, she's french and flirty, she absolutely would've tried to hit on him and almost certainly got rejected lmao. so she was probably miffed over this for a while but has since moved on?

fox is over in battlest with him and is very eager/friendly!

MINI BIO: Eva is Adrían’s daughter who was implanted by her mother against his wishes which led to the marriage falling apart. She grew up in Spain, had problems with her implant over the course of her teen years and eventually was talked into not having it recalibrated. She lived on the fringes of a pres city, heard talk of the Dislinked and her father’s name and decided that all the random skills she developed over living on the fringes were going to be honed into usefulness. She was brought aboard shortly after turning 26 :)

IDEAS/LINES:
• She loves learning, so anyone with any kind of niche skill? She’s interested in you. She’ll exchange Spanish lessons or take you down in a mean game of checkers.
• Anyone from the same stronghold/time before she was brought onboard? I left the where vague so let’s chat!
• Battlest buddies? Her partner is Cal.
• Friends. She’s sociable if a bit blunt.
• Exes or past flirtations. Unfortch, her flirt style is “I’m going to bully you”
• People that know dear old dad
• She was v into astronomy as a child and is trying to get back into it so anyone with any knowledge in that sphere

Ishaan also spent some time alone as a young unveiled teenager, but he was strictly city based. He's kind of closed off but still friendly but might find her a bit Much, for better or worse.

MINI BIO: He came into Dislinked around the time the Mnemosyne came. He applied his prior work in space engineering to bring the ship to life as we know it now. He created the cloaking and countermeasures. He is an awkward and intelligent fellow.

• Someone he thinks he is friends with, but they aren't as good friends as he may think
• Friends who put up with me vacating conversations because he thought of something he has been mulling over and realized the answer
• Really love a bromance in a sense

MINI BIO: Oldest of three children from Bath, England. Always wanted to do her best and be the best. Was in MI5 before becoming dislinked. Was at work and tried to fight back cause Suspicious but didn't succeeded so went under. Was one of the early people recruited to Dislinked - doesn't remember the how or why of it all tbh. Enjoys ballroom dancing the most but can do others too.

• Has been around for ages so knows basically everyone tbh. Might come off as professional and a touch aloof but is really a mother hen so people needs to make sure you're eating and looking after yourself okay?

About me/Availability: Adding this because I think I'm a new face to a majority of the players here—hello! I'm rusty to journal RPs, but will try to get back in the swing of comms. Most likely, I will be sporadically available during "regular" hours (7 AM - 9:30 PM Pacific), as I'm undergoing a new (to me) treatment for a chronic condition. The frequency of appointments puts me behind at work, and then I have to work late to catch up, etc., boo, hiss. But I'm very excited to be here and write with you all!

CHARACTER: Simon Peter Jung, Simon for short
CELL & ROLE: Scientist - Neuroclast
TIME IN DISLINKED: 6 months total, but only recently cleared to work aboard Mnemosyne.
MINI BIO: Veiled for most of his life, Simon was recommended for rescue by his wife Jo (apped by Olli) on the basis of his work on neural implants. Yes, technically he was one of the baddies... He has a bunch of complicated feelings (about his wife, the Architects, the Dislinked, Leonard Cohen's Book of Love, Matt Damon/Ben Affleck, natural fibers, etc.) but he's devoted to the cause for the sake of his two children, who remain Veiled.


IDEAS/LINES:
I have an easier time building lines in response to game events, plus Simon is very new, buuuuuut generally speaking I'm always down for:
• Unlikely friends: what it says on the tin
• Philosophical/ideological opponents to friends: love when people discuss differences in belief and find common ground.
• Reciprocal friends: Simon is an oldest child turned de facto patriarch through trauma; he not only enjoys taking care of other people but also feels extremely uncomfortable when people try to take care of him. I think it would be interesting to work on a line (or lines) where people learn that accepting care can be just as meaningful as providing care.

MINI BIO: A double mamas' boy, Griff lost both of them during the Fall. Was chipped for about 5 years before Doss could safely extract him, and he's been with the team ever since. Has a bit of a hero complex, so occasionally takes bigger risks that he should (sorry partner). Real sweetheart. Real gullible.


IDEAS/LINES:
• Buddy needs friends! Other pilots he could have mentored! People he tries to mother hen!
• He needs at least one close confidant who knows that he's not actually as happy go lucky as he seems and knows about his self-destructive tendencies. Someone to talk him down or out of Stupid Things.
• My guy has never had a relationship. :) But maybe he's crushed on you from afar? Been real dumb, like tried to make you a slushie one day only it tasted horrible? Pls give him some angst.
