• son of a famous actress (ie, mommy issues) who is still churning out trash now that she’s got a lack of depth in her performances
• was in saldahna bay from 7 AI to 11 AI
• recruited by niko in 11 AI
• was a pilot until 15 AI then dipped from the mnemo to train new pilots in a stronghold in the sahara, came back in 18 AI to be a squadron leader.

So, Az has been in dislinked for 7 years and is a pilot, an only child, and grew up rich. So absolutely some he piloted with before dipping, and potentially friends? (I would also totally offer him up as an ex if you want?) Az can be a bit of a jackass, especially to the people he's closest too, but he is all about pilot camradery.

There’s some overlap with Eli and Sandy Bay since he was there from 0 AI (age 11) until … 14 AI when he joined the ship as a pilot. He did some flying and training at Sandy Bay but don’t ask me what lol. He’s now a squad captain as of who knows how long so they’ll work together.
